Executive Sous Chef, Red Rooster Overtown; Miami, FL

Chef Anthony Jones is executive sous chef at Marcus Samuelsson’s Red Rooster Overtown in Miami, which was awarded a Michelin Bib Gourmand in 2022. Here Chef Jones has been a leader from the beginning. In addition, he is a recent winner on the Food Network’s Chopped and while being exposed to different cultures in Miami, his food has been influenced by African and Latin ingredients. Prior to working with Chef Samuelsson, Anthony honed his skills in Washington DC’s metro food scene. He worked alongside Cathal Armstrong from Restaurant Eve as well as Neighborhood Restaurant Group with Peter Smith, an alum of Vidalia. These roles helped refine his culinary talent and inspired his detailed focus on positively shaping kitchen culture. Anthony was born in Prince Frederick, Maryland, where he developed a love and fascination with the outdoors and nature. Fond memories of helping his family out in the garden planted his love for vibrant foods. Originally aspiring to be a botanist, he soon realized a different future inspired by the original Iron Chef battles, where artistry, passion, and dedication to craft reigned supreme.
