Yohanis Gebreyesus is managing director of CY Dynamics. Since his early childhood, he has been fascinated with the whole traditional ceremonies that went along the planning and consumption of Ethiopian hit meals during festivities. He can still smell the mixture of spices his mother uses for her unique “family legacy recipe” for Ethiopian clarified butter. His mother is very proud of her cuisine—she even cooked for her wedding before changing into her bridal dress. Growing up in an authentic Ethiopian family, Yohanis’ education in the hotel management and culinary arts and hands-on experience both in the southern beaches cities of California and the capital city of food, Lyon, he has developed a purpose-driven passion for fine-dining, global culinary techniques, and sourcing of quality products among limitless variety.
